Miss McDermott
Miss McDermott teaches fourth grade homeroom and fifth grade social studies at Holy Name.
Miss McDermott attended Holy Cross Grade School and Mercy High School. She completed her college education at U.N.O. Miss McDermott acquired a Bachelor of Science with majors in elementary education and special education, a Master of Science in elementary education with a concentration in early childhood, and an endorsement in early childhood.
Sherrie McDermott began her teaching career at St. Bernard’s School. She taught fourth grade, second grade, and kindergarten to complete 19 years at St. Bernard’s. Miss McDermott then joined the Holy Name faculty. She taught kindergarten for one year then switched to fourth grade. Miss McDermott has been a part of the faculty for over 15 years.
Miss McDermott has attended several workshops and classes to further her academic training. Discipline with Purpose and Boys Town lessons are two of the many she has attended. She has also helped develop the curriculum guidelines for the Archdiocese of Omaha Catholic Schools and was a staff leader in the accreditation process at Holy Name.
