Famous Events in History Project
The long drawings were completed as part of a contest. Some of the long drawings were completed by students from other classes. Miss McDermott was the facilitator of the contest entries. We are proud to announce one of our fourth graders won the contest. We will post the winning artwork once it is returned to us.

Students with Heartland Council of Pioneers Volunteers
Holy Name’s 4th Grade Teacher, Sherrie McDermott, her class and the volunteers from Heartland Council of Pioneers, Omaha met this morning. The students thanked the volunteers for painting the map of the USA on their school blacktop. The map is used by all classes as a fun way to practice their geography skills. The map was painted due to the generosity of the HC of Pioneers volunteers comprised of past presidents and officers of the organization. During the hot summer days, when we were all inside in the air conditioning, these volunteers were at Holy Name School painting the US for our students. Pictured are the 4th grade students with (L to r) Miss McDermott, Jerry Golmanavich, Darwin Fager, Betty Golmanavich, Joe Bonaiuto and Deb Grady. Thank you to these dedicated individuals who gave up their days to paint this map for us and to the Heartland Council of Pioneers for funding the project.
